THE 2017 SOCIAL MEDIA IMAGE SIZES CHEAT SHEET

All the info for your social media image sizes in one place

As time goes by, all the social media platforms change the requirements for the size of images that is ideal for posting on your profile. There are header images, profile pics, timeline photos, and more! It can get quite confusing especially when posting to many different platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. It is quite difficult to keep track of all the different social media image sizes but there is help…

On that note, I’m happy to share with you a fantastic infographic that details all the optimum image sizes you will need for all your social media needs!

I’ll add a few tips of my own here as well

For a sharp Facebook image to share on your timeline, share the image at 2048 pixels on the long side at maximum quality (12) in JPG format.

If you’re a Photoshop user, be sure to size your photo before sharpening!

For the cheat sheet below, use the specified image sizes or multiples of those sizes if you want a larger image to share. For example, the suggested size for a timeline image to share on Twitter is 440px X 220px. If you want to share a larger version, just double the size and make it 880px X 440px or bigger at 1760px X 880px.
